Storytelling = Success for Currys Supply Chain!

Congratulations to our client Currys Supply Chain which scooped an incredible three awards at Friday’s annual CiB (Communicators in Business) awards ceremony. These included awards in both the storytelling and change management categories as well as an overall Gold Award for their change management programme.

The event took place at the Park Lane Hotel in London and I watched with pride as they were called up to collect first one, then two, then a third prize for their great work to which we are proud to have contributed with our storytelling programme. It’s not a complete surprise that they did so well. They really believe in the power of stories to inspire and motivate and have worked tirelessly to ensure that all of their employees are engaged in the organisation’s journey.

And there are some very tangible results of their change programme…

*76% of employees understand the Supply Chain story (up from 45% in April 2006).
*87% of employees understand how they contribute to their site’s / team’s performance (up from 33% in April 2006)
* In 2005/06, Currys Supply Chain achieved challenging operating budgets (including delivering £5 million year-on-year cost-savings as part of business as usual operations) and delivered the best Peak (i.e. Christmas) performance ever in both 2005 and 2006.
*80% of employees achieved a performance bonus in the 2006/07 financial year (a large proportion achieved maximum bonus).
*Labour turnover reduced from 38% to 8%
*Sickness absence reduced from 8% to 4.2%
*Participation in the annual employee engagement survey has steadily increased (from 62% in 2005, to 69% in 2006, to 76% in 2007).

Congratulations Currys Supply Chain - we’re proud of you!

    Well done guys!

It’s great to get this type of recognition, and the change programme results are very impressive.

Currys have been great ambassadors of our storytelling process, and I agree that their enthusiasm and drive has been a fundamental factor in their success story.

    Well done to all involved!
