It’s true - the old ‘command and control’ approach has no place in business today as employees become ever more discerning, want to be more involved and valued, and understand why they are doing what they are doing. Can you imagine ordering one of your colleagues to get in a car without telling where they are going? Or why they are going there? And what they are going to do when they get there? Treat a business as that car and you’ll soon change your mind about command and control!
